Welcome to my blog where I talk about AI, computer architecture, and life. My name is Karen Janice Mazidi. I go by Karen at work but family and friends call me Janice (rhymes with Denise).

My career path has taken me from programmer to textbook author to teacher. I’ve learned a lot along the way which I will share in this blog.

I’m passionate about:

  • all things computer science, especially AI topics of machine learning and natural language processing

  • computer architecture

  • first-generation college students

  • increasing participation of women other under-represented groups in computer science

  • learning how to optimize your life physically, mentally, and spiritually, using that last word in a non-religious sense
